This is one of the most problematic border crossing in Norway because of the steep hill and narrow road . If you meet another truck while climbing the hill at the narrow place and it is slippery, you are pretty much screwed. The bridge connects the municipalities of Ullensvang and Ulvik. It replaced a ferry connection between Bruravik and Brimnes, and thereby shortens the driving time between Oslo and Bergen. It is the longest suspension bridge in Norway. Characteristics: The length of the bridge is 1380 m; length of the main span - 1310 m. The bridge has one of the longest spans in the world (No. 12 in the world and No. 1 in Norway). The height of the bridge above sea level is 55 m. The bridge has two lanes. The bridge is also divided into a carriageway and a bike path/sidewalk. The small difference between the length of the bridge (1380 m) and the span (1310 m) is explained by the fact that the fjord is very deep and its banks are steep, so the supports must be on the shore. In addition, sheer cliffs approach the shores. On both sides, the road enters the tunnels directly from the bridge. GoPro isn´t very good for filming at night and it doesn´t actually give the right feeling how it really looks, everything is much brighter with those nice LED hight beams than you can see from the video.
