The controversy over Hijab in Karnataka has intensified, after Muslim girl students of the state Pre-University College were yet again not allowed to enter the college premises. The video of the students being stopped by the college principal at the gate has now gone viral. The girl students can be heard telling the guards that their exams are just two months away, and why is the college creating an issue on wearing the hijab now. Until now, the norm in the state was that students were allowed to wear the hijab in college, but they would remove it inside the classroom. Back in December last year, 6 Muslim girl students faced a similar problem in the college. An identity war has now erupted after male students of the college sported saffron shawls to challenge the Hijab. The Karnataka Education Minister has assured that a committee is looking into the matter. “We didn't want the education institution to become the war field of two communities. It's a sacred place and every student should feel equal. We took a clear stand that this should not be done at the premises of the institutions,” said BC Nagesh. For four days a group of 28 Muslim girls stood in protest in front of the Junior Pre-University college in the Karnataka state after they were denied entry for wearing hijab – an issue that has snowballed to other colleges in the southern state. Visuals of students being shut outside the gate by several colleges in the state have caused mounting outrage among the Muslim minority and triggered protests since last week, with rights groups alleging that the move violates the rights of Muslim students to practice their religion and access education. The tensions escalated after students and activists allegedly backed by Hindu nationalist groups started to wear saffron colour scarves, calling for hijab ban in educational institutions in the state – where Muslims form 12 percent of the population. As the row over Muslim girl students not being permitted to wear headscarves to several colleges in Karnataka intensifies, hijab-wearing students staged a protest in another private college at Kundapur on Friday. This after the staff refused to let them in. Around 40 students protested at the gates of the Bhandarkar's Arts and Science Degree College, following which police were deployed on the campus. Hundreds of protesters blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong highway on Sunday, in a strike against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the deaths of people during the protests that erupted in violence on Friday. At least five people were killed and dozens injured in police gunfire in eastern Bangladesh on Saturday, a hospital doctor said, as security forces tried to quell protests against Modi's visit. On Friday, four people were shot and killed in protests. "Our only protest was against the visit of Narendra Modi because he a killer of Muslims so he has no right to come a country of Muslims," One protester said. Many Islamist groups in Bangladesh accuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi of alienating minority Muslims in Hindu-majority India. #Hijab #HijabControversy #Karnataka পাঁচ রাজ্যের ঠিক ভোটের আগে হিজাব বিতর্কে (Hijab controversy) এখন তোলপাড় দেশের রাজনীতি। দাবি করা হচ্ছে, কর্নাটকের (Hijab controversy in Karnataka) সীমানা পেরিয়ে এই বিতর্ক এখন মধ্যপ্রদেশ ও পুদুচেরিতেও। কারণ, ইতিমধ্যে মধ্যপ্রদেশ সরকারও সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে স্কুল-কলেজে হিজাব (Hijab controversy) বন্ধ করা হবে। বিজেপি (BJP) শাসিত আরেকটি রাজ্যের এই সিদ্ধান্তে স্বভাবতই হতবাক রাজনৈতিক মহল। এরমধ্যেই বুধবার হিজাব বিতর্কে মুখ খুললেন কর্নাটকের মাণ্ড্য কলেজের (Mandya College in Karnataka) পড়ুয়া মুসকান (Muskan)। মঙ্গলবার এই কলেজের মধ্যে একটি ভিডিও ভাইরাল (Hijab controversy viral video) হয়। যার সত্যতা অবশ্য যাচাই করা হয়নি। যেখানে দেখা গিয়েছে, হিজাব পরিহিতা এক মুসলিম কন্যাকে লক্ষ করে 'জয় শ্রীরাম' স্লোগান দিতে। মেয়েটিও পাল্টা 'আল্লা হু আকবর' বলে চিৎকার করছেন। এই ভিডিও এখন ভাইরাল। এদিন সংবাদ সংস্থাকে মুসকান বলেছেন, "কলেজে ঢোকার সময়েই আমাকে বাধা দিয়ে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হয়, কেন বোরখা (Burqa) পরে এসেছি? তারপরই আমাকে উদ্দেশ্য করে 'জয় শ্রী রাম' স্লোগান দেওয়া শুরু হয়। আমিও তাই 'আল্লা হু আকবর' বলে পাল্টা স্লোগান দিতে থাকি"। তাঁর দাবি, উপস্থিত গেরুয়া উত্তরীয় পরিহিতদের কয়েক জনকে তিনি চিনতে পেরেছিলেন। কারণ তাঁরাও মুসকানের (Muskan) সহপাঠী। তবে বেশির ভাগই বহিরাগত। মুসকান (Muskan) জানিয়েছেন, পড়াশোনা করাই তাঁর অগ্রাধিকার। তাঁর কথায়, ‘‘ওঁরা আমাদের পড়াশোনা করার অধিকারটাই ছিনিয়ে নিতে চায়, এক টুকরো কাপড়ের জন্য!’’ মুসকান বলেন, ‘‘গত সপ্তাহ থেকে এটা শুরু হয়েছে। আমি বরাবরই বোরখা আর হিজাব (Hijab) পরতে অভ্যস্ত। ক্লাসে বোরখা খুলে হিজাব (Hijab) পরে নিই। হিজাব (Hijab) এখন যেন আমার অঙ্গ হয়ে গিয়েছে। কলেজের প্রিন্সিপালও কোনও দিন কিছু বলেননি। বহিরাগতরা এটা শুরু করেছে। এই পরিস্থিতিতে প্রিন্সিপাল আমাদের বোরখা আনতে মানা করেছেন। কিন্তু হিজাবের দাবিতে আমাদের প্রতিবাদ জারি থাকবে।’’ কলেজের দ্বিতীয় বর্ষের বাণিজ্য শাখার ওই ছাত্রী বলেছেন, ‘‘আমার হিন্দু বন্ধুরাও আমার সঙ্গে আছে। আজ সকাল থেকে একের পর এক ফোন পাচ্ছি। আমি আশ্বস্ত।’’ #HijabControversyInKarnataka #BJP #Bangalure #India #SaffronScarf #HijabRow #Muskan #MandyaCollege #Burqa #Dress More videos for you : 1.
