US Congressional report stated , The independent Congressional Analysis Service (CRS) noted in a recent study this week that India is among the many choose few nations that are creating hypersonic weapons According to a media source, China recently tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile that circled the globe before missing its target, displaying a sophisticated area capability that took US intelligence off guard. The CRS stated that , while the United States, Russia, and China have the most advanced hypersonic weapons programmes, a number of other nations, including Australia, India, France, Germany, and Japan, are also developing hypersonic weapons expertise. Whereas Australia worked with the US, India worked with Russia on this,  According to the CRS report ,India and Russia worked on the development of the BrahMos 2 , a Mach 7 hypersonic cruise missile. Although BrahMos 2 was supposed to be fielded in 2017, press sources suggest that the programme is experiencing major delays and is now expected to reach first operational capability between 2025 and 2028." The CRS said , India, is also working on an indigenous, dual-capable hypersonic cruise missile as part of its Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle programme, and a Mach 6 scramjet was successfully tested in June 2019 and September 2020.

ISRO’s Scramjet Engine BrahMos-II The BrahMos-II is supposed to be powered by an Air Breathing scramjet engine. Its been also speculated that the Russian TSIRKON missile technology might be used in Brahmos 2. Although BrahMos II was initially intended to be fielded in 2017, news reports indicate that the program faces significant delays and is now scheduled to achieve initial operational capability between 2025 and 2028. Rudram-3 DRDO is also developing the RUDRAM-3 which is a hypersonic aeroballistic missile. The missile will have a Length of 6m, Diameter of 0.5m and will weigh close to 1.6 tons with maximum speed of Mach 5. Its range will be between 500-1000KM. The missile is designed to destroy the hardened Nuclear facilities, military installation, anti-ship role. The missile would be capable of carrying warhead of 200KG. It can be considered as an air launched ballistic missile like Russian Kinzhal missile. Much of the details on the Rudram-3 remain under the curtain. HSTDV India is also developing an indigenous, dual-capable hypersonic cruise missile as part of its Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle program and successfully tested a Mach 6 scramjet in June 2019 and September 2020. HSTDV is an unmanned scramjet vehicle with a capability to travel at a speed six times that of sound. In the test conducted by DRDO in 2020, it was able to successfully demonstrate the hypersonic air-breathing scramjet technology with the flight test of HSTDV. The hypersonic cruise vehicle was launched using a proven solid rocket motor, which took it to an altitude of 30KMs, where the aerodynamic heat shields were separated at hypersonic Mach number. The cruise vehicle separated from the launch vehicle and the air intake opened as planned. The hypersonic combustion sustained for more than 20 seconds, and the cruise vehicle continued on its desired flight path at a velocity of Mach 6 or nearly 02 km/second. In summary the scramjet engine was flight tested for 20 seconds achieving the speed of Mach 6. Shaurya Missile With the induction of Shaurya in October 2020, India became 3rd country after Russia and China to have deployed Hypersonic weapon. It is a cannister launched hypersonic surface-to-surface ballistic missile developed by DRDO & has a reported range between 700 to 1900km. The missile is capable of carrying nuclear as well as conventional warhead varying from 250kg to 1 tonne. It is also speculated as the land version of submarine launched Sagarika K-15 missile though officially it has been denied by DRDO. Shaurya falls into Hypersonic missile category due to its pseudo ballistic trajectory. After taking off and reaching a height of about 50 km, the missile starts flying like a hypersonic glide vehicle. Once it reaches the target area it manoeuvres towards the target before striking with an accuracy of 20 to 30 m within the target area. Hypersonic Glide Vehicle HGV202F This month Ministry of Defence has put Hypersonic Glide Vehicle under make-I category which means it will fund up to 70% of total cost of development of the prototype. This opens the door for the private firms towards the development of Hypersonic technologies. At present, the HTNP industries is the only start-up working on the Hypersonic glider called the HGV202F. Hypersonic Glide Vehicle (HGV), HGV-202F is mounted on a booster rocket (or an ICBM). Like a payload on a conventional rocket, the booster takes it to the required altitude in the range of 60 to 100+ Km and provides the initial orientation and speed. The HGV then abandons the expended booster and renters the atmosphere. And performs a high-degree Pull-up maneuver to enter the glide phase and finally the terminal trajectory. HGV-202F is an unpowered gliding body and uses aerodynamic forces to glide towards the target with a speed of Mach 10+ (or 5km/sec) five times the existing cruise missiles and much more maneuverable than existing ballistic re-entry vehicles (RVs). HTNP industries have also presented a mockup of the HGV 202F at Aero India 2021. In Defense Military, two main types of Missiles are there: 1). Ballistic is a missile (rocket) that follows a ballistic trajectory with the objective of delivering one or more warheads to a predetermined target. These missiles are guided for the brief duration just in the starting phase of trajectory and the rest of the path is like a free-falling projectile under gravity. 2). Cruise is a guided missile used against terrestrial targets that remain in the atmosphere and flies the major portion of its flight path at an approximately constant speed. These missiles are self-navigating and fly at extremely low altitudes to avoid being caught by radars. Cruise missiles are designed to deliver a large warhead over long distances with high accuracy. Beijing: China on Tuesday hoped that India's testing of the nuclear-capable Agni-5 intercontinental ballistic missile complied with UN Security Council rules and safeguarded South Asia's strategic balance even as Beijing maintained that the two nations are "not rivals but partners". Agni-V missile. Image courtesy PIBAgni-V missile. Image courtesy PIB Taking exception to reports that the successful test of Agni-V was meant to target China, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said, "On your question on India test firing the Agni-5 ballistic missile, we have noted relevant reports", to a question at a media briefing in Beijing. "On whether India can develop this ballistic missile that can carry nuclear weapons, I think relevant resolutions of the UNSC have clear rules," she said without elaborating. "We have always believed that safeguarding strategic balance and stability in South Asia is conducive for the peace and prosperity of countries in the region," she said. The reference to the strategic balance in South Asia apparently referred to the military balance between India and Pakistan. Agni-5, a 5,000-km range intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) is widely regarded as a strategic missile targeted at China as it can reach almost all parts of the Chinese mainland.

How India Became The Ruler Of Missile Power

The use of missiles dates back to the Vedic age in India. Indian warriors have used "Astras" as missiles in various forms from that period in the subcontinent, proofs of which can be drawn from a number of epics such as the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. The deadly weapons and the scriptures regarding the technology were later concealed to prevent any future happenings for the sake of the survival of mankind. In olden days, the Astra (a supernatural weapon) was controlled by ‘Mantras’ (a sound, syllable, or group of words that are considered capable of creating transformation) that could be correlated to the mission control software of the modern day missiles. World’s first rocket Fighting the British colonial army, Tipu Sultan and his army used thousands of rockets resulting in the defeat of the troops in the Srirangapatna war in 1792. The rockets were attached with bamboo or steel spears and powered by gun powder, propellant compacted in a cast iron chamber with nozzle and igniters capable of attacking enemy cavalry and soldiers. The modern day missiles have their roots in Germany as the country developed the first successful Guided missiles V1 and V2. After World War II, several other nations developed a variety of missile systems. India had mastered missile technology from olden days, but it was left behind in this field when the Britishers ruled the country for hundreds of years, resulting in lack of resources, research environment and capabilities. This was the time when India decided to go ahead with its Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP), headed by eminent scientist and former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam who launched the first Satellite Launch Vehicle, SLV-3 putting the Rohini Satellite in orbit. The IGMDP project began on July 26, 1983 at the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) in Hyderabad. A host of missiles, including the strategic Agni Integrated Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM), the tactical Prithvi, the Akash and Trishul surface-to-air missiles and the Nag anti-tank guided missile were developed under the programme. The project gave India the capability to produce indigenous missiles in other key areas as well.

ndia has studied, produced and used various strategic and tactical missile systems since its independence. Decades long projects have realised development of all types of missile systems including ballistic, cruise, anti-ship, air-defence, air to air and anti-missile systems. India is one of seven countries in the world with ICBMs and one of four countries with anti-ballistic missile systems. Since 2016, India has been a member of Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR). The use of rockets for warfare in India has been recorded early as 18th century. Mysorean rockets were the first iron-cased rockets in world that were successfully deployed for military use. Mysore's conflict with East India Company exposed British to the technology leading to development of Congreve rockets and introduction of rocketry in Europe. Research in missile technology resumed again after India's independence along with the of mass destruction. Development of was followed by various missile programs in 70s with development of various ballistic, cruise, surface to air, anti- ballistic missile and orbital launch systems. India conducted its first test and initiated with Project Devil as an attempt to reverse engineer Soviet surface to air missile SA-2 Guideline and Project Valiant to develop an intercontinental ballistic missile. However, it could not succeed and experience gained led to development of Prithvi series of short range ballistic-missiles. In early 80s, India conducted its first successful orbital launch and synchronized its research institutions under IGMDP and successfully developed a series of strategic missile systems. The project started in early 1980s and ended in 2008 after these strategic missiles were successfully developed. The last major missile developed under the program was the Agni 3 intermediate-range ballistic missile which was successfully tested on 9 July 2007. Since then, India has developed, tested, operationalized and is developing a number of missile systems that are limited to only a handful of countries including ICBMs, ASATs, SLBMs and hypersonic systems. Threats posed by enemy missile systems led to the pursuit of Indian Ballistic Missile Defense Programme. In 2017, India produced most of defined MTCR defined missile technologies required to be integrated to produce most missile systems. #GlobalConflictHindi #ListOfMissileOfIndia #IndianMissile

My Instagram-🤍 In today’s time, China is showing its power to the world,But he can never make direct war with India,The biggest reason for this is India’s missile strength, While Indian nuclear posture has traditionally been geared towards handling Pakistan, according to a new research, there are indications that India is now focusing more on managing threats from China and as such, strengthening its ability to bring entire Chinese territory within its nuclear strike range According to a recent report, in view of China and Pakistan in the last few years, India has advanced and modernized its missile technology,According to the news, India has prepared the Inter Continental Ballistic Missile Agni-5 as part of its preparations to deal with any situation of fighting China India’s nuclear doctrine and its strategic force posture have been evolving with a rapidly changing threat environment,Questions of targeting and no-first-use policy are now being discussed more critically with rising belligerence from China Hans M. Kristensen, top nuclear scientist, speaks at length on ‘India’s Nuclear Forces 2020 ,He conveys strongly the point that India is out to re-strategise, its nuclear arsenal, and thrust,,its capabilities are evolving to bring all of China within reach for the first time focus of India’s current missile development, is range,,to have enough range to hold targets at risk throughout China. Agni III has this capability if launched from the very north-eastern part of India,Agni III has this capability if launched from the very north-eastern part of India Agni IV will give more flexibility, but not until Agni V becomes operational and deployed will India be able to overcome the geographical constraints and allow it to base its missile force further back from the Chinese border, Agni V will enable India to hold targets ,at risk throughout China ,not least the leadership in Beijing. and allow Indian planners to base the missiles further back from the Chinese border .How that will affect Chinese thinking ,and planning is difficult to predict ,not least because China, already has the capability to target facilities throughout India India’s strategic The emerging geo-political dynamics wants India to be a major player in the new defence and security ,and the epicentre of which is the Indo-Pacific region, influence will almost entirely be Pakistan and China According to the news, India has prepared the Inter Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Agni-5 as part of its preparations to deal with any situation of fighting China This nuclear-rich missile can wreak havoc all over China, With this missile technology, India joined the select countries which have ICBM missile powers, India stands near America, Russia, France, Britain and China in this list These forces of India make the country powerful. Let me tell you that Agni missiles are an important part of India’s resistance against nuclear attacks,India has a number of Agni series missiles,Due to which the enemy countries of India suffer the most,The name of this missile gives a shout to the enemies of India The Rafale jets are factor to boost India’s defence status and its strength in Asia, including against China,The Rafale is a very capable aircraft,If India equips it to carry nuclear bombs, it will represent an increased strike capability in the air-leg of the nuclear Triad Agni V missiles and Rafale jets will be game changer for India’s new defence strength.

Surya Missile, India Working On Surya ICBM Missile, #ICBM #Suryamissile, India defense updates, indian defense technology, Agni missile, Akash missile, Rafael fighter,Narendra modi, indian airforce, indian army, indian navy, The use of rockets in India, for warfare, dates back to the 18th century. These rockets, also known as Mysorean rockets, were the first iron-cased rockets that were successfully deployed for military use. The British reverse-engineered these and introduced the technology to Europe (see Congreve rocket). When India became a British colony, scientific R&D in India was restricted and military science in India naturally lagged.[1] Research in missile technology resumed again in the late 1950s under the political leadership of Jawaharlal Nehru, independent India's first prime minister. Successive Indian government after his, continued providing consistent political backing to the programme. In 1982, India's political and scientific leadership, which included prime minister Indira Gandhi, Defence Minister R. Venkataraman, V.S. Arunachalam (Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister), Dr. Abdul Kalam (Director, DRDL) accelerated and gave new dimensions to the missile programme, under the 'Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme' (IGMDP).[2] The IGMDP is one of India's most successful defence research project, as all the missiles – Prithvi, Akash, Trishul, Nag, Agni – have been successfully tested and inducted by the Indian armed forces.[3] After the end of the IGMDP (on 8 January 2008), India now develops all its current and future missiles as independent projects, and wherever possible, with private industries and foreign partners.(BrahMos is an example of one such successful collaborative project, between India and Russia).

India's Ballistic Missile Defence System and its Long Range Tracking Radars

Long Range Radars If you have to build a ballistic missile shield, you need to have very long rage radar that can detect targets from thousand of kilometers. Initially India has imported such radars from Israel and then further upgraded it as per its requirement and now it has developed its own Long Range Tracking Radar also called LRTR which we will be discussing in detail in today’s video. But before we discuss on LRTR, lets also understand basics of BMD. Understanding BMD BMD is India’s two-tier ballistic missile defence system developed by DRDO. The first layer can intercept a missile at an exo-atmospheric altitude of 50-180 km. This layer consists of Prithvi Air Defence (PAD) and Prithvi Defence Vehicle (PDV) interceptors designed for mid-course interception of a ballistic missile. The second layer can destroy an incoming missile in the endo-atmospheric altitude of 15-40 km. It consists of a single staged solid rocket-propelled Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile. AAD is designed to intercept missiles at the terminal phase. The BMD system in its present configuration is designed to counter missiles with a range up to 2000 km and a speed between Mach 3 to Mach 8. The scriptures and epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata have mentioned about the missiles which are controlled by mantras, which can be related to modern day missile’s mission control software. The world’s first rocket was used by Tipu Sultan in the Anglo-Mysore war against the British in 18th century AD. The missiles/rockets used by Tipu Sultan were made of Bamboo or steel spears, cast iron chamber as propellant and gunpowder as the warhead. During British rule, the missile development technology was left behind due to various factors like colonialism, lack of resources, lack of research capabilities, etc., AFTER INDEPENDENCE The development of anti-tank missiles and sounding rockets had started from Hyderabad based Defence R & D Lab (DRDL) in the 1960s. CLASSIFICATION OF INDIAN MISSILES Based on Type Cruise missile Ballistic Missile Quasi-Ballistic Missile (a) CRUISE MISSILE Cruise missiles are guided unmanned missiles and are used against the targets within atmosphere i.e. terrestrial targets. Jet Engine is mostly used for the aerodynamic lift. They are low-level flights which can be launched from land, air and water. Based on speed the cruise missiles are classified into – Subsonic, Supersonic and Hypersonic. Example: BrahMos, Nirbhay SUBSONIC These missiles travel at the speed of less than 1 Mach number, less than the speed of sound. Example: Nirbhay SUPERSONIC These missiles travel at the speed between 2 – 3 Mach Number Example: Brahmos HYPERSONIC These missiles at a speed more than 5 Mach Number. They travel 5 times more than the speed of sound. Example: Brahmos II (not yet launched) Note- Mach number- It is the ratio of the speed of a body to the speed of sound in the surrounding medium. (b) BALLISTIC MISSILES The flight path of the ballistic missile is characterised with Ballistic trajectory. Ballistic missiles can be launched from land and sea-based systems. During the ascend it takes high arch trajectory and falls freely during descend. Example: Agni, Prithvi, etc. Based on Launch Mode Surface to Surface Surface to Air Air to Air Air to Surface Surface to Sea Anti-tank missiles Based on Range Short range missiles Medium range missiles Intermediate range missiles Inter-Continental ballistic missiles Based on Propulsion Solid propulsion Liquid propulsion Hybrid propulsion Ramjet Scramjet Cryogenic Based on warhead Conventional Strategic (Nuclear) Based on Guidance System Wire guidance Command Guidance Inertial Guidance Terrestrial Guidance Laser Guidance RF and GPS guidance #CommunicationKing #SSB #IndianMissileSystem #UPSC #IAS #CSE #CDS #AFCAT #NDA #OTA #SSB #AFSB #LECTURETTE #NitishPatel
