Yay another movie with great potential that will shove white guilt innuendos down my throat for an hour and a half. Can’t wait
Just watched it because of Eddie Murphy.
I feel sorry for all the actors in this having to read the dialogue they were given
Not a pair you’d generally really come across. Also, probably why I really took to it. What an interesting combination. Films help societies overcome stereotypes and grow beyond standards imposed over us — when done right, at least.
This was done right. Interracial couple, diverse religious backgrounds, different socioeconomics, etc.
Also, I like that it was the white guy and black girl. We see even less of that featured.
Whole other thing now but let me explain how these types of films can better society when they become a hit and done as good as this one was:
Just from my own perspective and what I’ve seen improved in my lifetime so far…
Being a gay guy, i wish we could’ve have more hit mainstream shows and films that put LGBT+ Relationships in a normalized way when I was growing up in the 1990’s and 2000’s. The late 1990’s and more so into the 2000’s put a few on the map — yes, but most of which remained popular within smaller circles. Breakthrough hits like Will & Grace and HBO’s Queer as Folk and the box office hit Brokeback Mountain SHOULD’VE motivated creators to bring forth more content… you would think so, anyway.
But it didn’t. Or, at least, content was being made but at low budgets or by lesser known folks. And maybe the wider audience just wasn’t ready to take to it to much. Maybe there’s a little both of that that went on. Seems the public is slow to take to lesser familiar experiences. I hope to see people snap out of that more. Why is it fun to remain with the same stuff, anyway ?? Isn’t it fun to see diverse folks doing things their own way? Or even the same way as everyone else ?? What fun is the same people doing the same thing every time? Blah.
We’re in the streaming era with endless options and it’s still a very rare aspect. It’s growing tho… it’ll be Gen Z who makes it standard and fully normalized.
Take RuPaul’s Drag Race for example. The show has been on FOR YEARS now with multiple spin-offs and specials now but it took many years for it to achieve mainstreaming success. It didn’t just come around a few years ago. It made its mark back in early 2009. Nearly 15 years ago!
It took about half that time to gain the eyes of non-LGBT+ folks.
Anyway.. this was a great film. I hope to continue seeing the types of relationships, friendships, marriages, and competition reality shows that challenge what’s been done over and over again. When it can add a comical element to it and really be a fun, enjoyable, hilarious experience — it helps peak the interest of everyone alike. We all like to enjoy and laugh. It’s a human experience.
A great way to keep pushing these types of non-conforming behaviors, relationships, and diverse characters into the homes of others: make them laugh!
dumb movie ,i think so netflix should stop putting shitty film .
Jonah did really well in the movie, I liked the movie at times but it really pushed an agenda and really wish they left politics out of it, or real world.

Been there. I first dated a Jamaican girl. I'm still a bit frightened of her older brother. Like 30 years on. Think he gets out of jail soon too. 🤣 True 👍
I just watched it and it's really good 👍
Terrible movie
I’ve seen everything decent on Netflix and by dinner time I wanna watch something and I tried this knowing it was going to be horrible but still watched it, only an hour in and one more hour to go tomorrow, this shit made me sad as hell there isn’t another season of that 90s show to save me
So this movie is just about black peoples still bitching and complaining about white people and slavery 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so a bunch of black crybabies is what it’s about
Looks like trash...I have Netflix I'm not even watch...
Movie sucked. Cringe.
